Max was born and raised in southern Indiana. Upon graduating high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in the Nuclear Power Training Program. After becoming “nuclear qualified” and attaining the rank of Machinist Mate Second Class (MM2/E-5), Max received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.  Upon graduation he selected Naval Aviation and after receiving his “Wings of Gold” Max was designated an "Unrestricted Naval Aviator," becoming qualified as an aircraft commander in the SH-60B Seahawk helicopter and as a Functional Check Pilot (squadron level test pilot).  Max was deployed twice to the Persian Gulf where he amassed over 1400 total flight hours, with over 1000 hours in the Seahawk, ~500 hours of combat flight time, and over 500 shipboard landings.  His sea tour came to end with his selection as the squadron and wing "Pilot of the Year" and culminated in selection as the 1999 Naval Helicopter Association “Pilot of the Year.” For his shore tour Max returned to the Naval Academy as a military professor where he taught Naval Warfare Strategy and Tactics.


While teaching at the academy, Max attended the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. Subsequently, in 2003 Max moved to Palm Beach County and began his legal career, focusing his practice in the area of local government/municipal law.  Max is rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell, is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in City, County and Local Government Law, and has over fifteen years of experience.

Max currently serves as the City Attorney for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, the Town Attorney for the Town of Lantana and General Counsel for the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority and the West Palm Beach Art & Entertainment District.  Max also serves as the Special Magistrate for the Towns of Glen Ridge and Cloud Lake.

Max is a member of the Board of Directors and general legal counsel for Operation 120, Inc., a non-profit organization serving homeless female military veterans in Palm Beach County with temporary housing and transitional life skills. 


In 2014, Max founded the Lohman Law Group, P.A. and more recently SureTrust Title with his wife, Kristen.


Walt received his undergraduate degree in history from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland in 1980. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and served on active duty for 5 years, serving primarily as an Adjutant and Legal Officer.  While on active duty, Walt completed the Legal Officer’s Course at the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island in 1982 and was the Honor Graduate in his class.  Soon after his promotion to Captain, Walt left active duty and received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the George Mason University School of Law (now the Antonin Scalia Law School) in Arlington, Virginia in 1988.  In 2006, he received his Masters of Law Degree (LL.M.) from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts in 2006.

Walt was admitted to the State Bar of California in December of 1988. Since then, he has been admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court; the First, Ninth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal; the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (January 2004); the State of New Hampshire (December 2012); the State of Rhode Island (May 2013); the State of Florida (November 2013); as well as in the federal District Courts in each of these states.  


Walt has been a trial and appellate attorney for the majority of his career, most significantly in municipal government settings.  He served as an Assistant/Deputy City Attorney for the City of Bakersfield, California, for 12 years; as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Revere, Massachusetts, for nearly 2 years; and, as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston assigned to its Inspectional Services Department for 1 year.


More recently, Walt worked as a trial and appellate lawyer on behalf of mortgage lenders, secondary market mortgage holders and mortgage loan servicers for whom he handled complex foreclosure related litigation in state and federal court, along with title curative, declaratory relief and related matters associated with real property subject to mortgage liens that were in default. Walt also serves as Vice President of SureTrust Title.


Walt and his wife, Susan, reside in Lake Worth, Florida.  They have seven children.


Kristen is a native Floridian, born in Winter Park Florida. She is a seasoned REALTOR® associate with more than 15 years experience. She started her career in the private golf and country club industry in sales and marketing, and in 2004 she obtained her real estate license. During a span of 13 years Kristen successfully sold luxury waterfront and golf front estate homes in several of the most exclusive golf communities in Orlando and South Florida. While in these roles she obtained an education in escrow and closing processes. She swiftly developed  a keen sense for the exceptional service necessary to build and maintain lasting customer relationships, which she feels has set her apart and has been a key to her success. Kristen is now focused on SureTrust Title, which she and her husband Max founded.


Kristen and Max married in Savannah in September 2013. Beyond the world of real estate, she has a passion for animal welfare and rescue. She and Max have 4 lucky rescue dogs that keep them very active.


Nikki was born and raised in Lantana Florida. She attended local schools and received training to become one of the areas top surgical technicians. She excelled in this role due to her passion to help people. From very early on Nicole was exposed to all aspects of the real estate industry, including mortgages and title insurance. Being the daughter of a seasoned real estate broker and mortgage broker, her career focus eventually shifted towards real estate. She soon began working at a title company, where she honed her skills as a closing agent for more than 7 years. Nicole further diversified her career by becoming a licensed REALTOR® with Kustom Properties Group, affording her the opportunity to actively assist clients with their real estate needs as well as continuing to provide superior title and escrow services for fellow industry professionals and their clients.


Nicole is married with 3 children. Her husband, Travis, is a dedicated firefighter. Their family is no stranger to an active and fast-paced lifestyle. Work hard, play hard is their motto! They love boating, fishing, and vacationing the Florida Keys.
